This weekend I'm beginning a 30 day trial. I'm attempting to go 30 days with no cigarettes and no take away coffee.
Basically cigarettes obviously need to be dumped. Take away coffee? First it is pretty bad for you-my usual coffee has 300 calories (triple grande mocha with cream), I have at least one a day and sometimes two or three more coffees-either from starbucks or from the staff cafe.
More importantly it's too pricey- I think I'm spending about £30 a week on take away coffee alone. For what? Take out coffee is far from tasty, sometimes a barista will get my drink just right but generally it tastes like dirt. Largely take out coffee is a conditioned reflex purchase. So time to kill the reflex and save myself some money-at least in theory.
Why 30 days?-well this is the length of time required to break an addiction, its also short enough not to feel like too much of a sacrifice.
At the end of 30 days I'll see how I feel about take out coffee and move on. The cigarettes will stay ditched though!
