Joys of commuting
activities available to man.
Sure my fellow commuters rammed on board are tired, irritated and
stressed out, I know just what will set their day up-they can watch,
listen and smell as I chew my way through a six pack of bacon sarnies.
Hey you in the pinstripe, pass the ketchup!
Correction-most obnoxious is the builder who sat down to me after six
months hard labour who appears to believe showers are doscretionary....

Blogging from my iPhone
Basically blogger provide an email addess you can post directly
through. I can use the iPhone email app to create and post blog
entries. I could also use the blogger site but this is easier.
In other news despite the best efforts of the government I got a bonus
and have done my bit to stimulate the economy by purchasing a shiny
new iphone. You may question why given my poor track record with macs
but I just couldn't resist the geeky appeal of being able to listen to
led zep, surf the web and watch repeats of family guy all while
sitting on the train.
I am acually looking forward to my commute on Monday!

Snow problem
Really annoying. Hopefully either it will become too inclement to get to work at all or the weather will clear up entirely and I can get back to my old routine.

One week of cycling
Actually took no longer than the underground would have and was much more enjoyable. Wont be cycling tomorrow (we are experiencing a snow storm at the moment plus I need to get my shirts to the office), will be cycling the rest of the week and will update you on how it goes. If anyone is reading this and thinking about cycling to work then just do it!

Cycling to work!
Cycled to the station in Cambridge and then from the station to the office. In the evening did the same. Getting up at the same miserable hour as normal (5.30) I actually got to the office a good 45 minutes earlier (I caught the 6.15 instead of the 7.15 train!!!!) It doesnt take an hour longer for me to walk to the station, but usually I arrive about five minutes before the 6.45 and am so depressed at the prospect of actually getting on board that I stand outside gently sobbing until the 7.15 comes.
In the evening leaving my desk at 5.30 (which is a little early for me) I comfortably made the 6.15 train. I'm going to experiment tomorrow leaving at 5.45 and see if I can still hit the station on time.
Anyway feel so much better than normal. Loads of energy both in the morning and the evening, really happy and quite alert. Normally I get home and ignore my wife for 2 hours then fall asleep so this is a big plus!
On the downside was terribly sweaty all day (tomorrow will change into shirt at the office) and nearly got hit by a car at Picadilly circus. I think with time both of these aspects should be mitigated.
Lets see if I'm still cycling and or blogging this time next week.
